Women's Retreat

We are so excited about the upcoming Women of Joy 2021 Retreat this year: “I Will Not Be Moved.”  The retreat is on Friday afternoon, May 7, and Saturday, May 8, at the South Shore Harbour Resort & Conference Center.

The resort is located on the shore of Clear Lake, in League City, Texas. Our time together will begin with dinner on Friday evening at 6:00pm and will conclude at 2:30pm on Saturday.

In Psalm 16:8, King David, a man after God’s own heart, wrote the following:  I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

This was the result of his decision to put God first in his life. David could see the Lord standing at His right hand to defend him from his enemy. Just like David, we will not be moved. Jesus is at our right hand fighting for us and helping us in our trials.

Because our confidence is in Him, we will remain immovable and steadfast for Jesus. We are anchored in Him, His Word, prayer and in serving Him and His people. No matter what we are facing, or will face in the future, He is the anchor for our souls.

Our guest speaker, Bethany MacIntosh, lives in Chula Vista, California with her husband Phillip, who is the Pastor at Horizon Christian Fellowship San Diego. Together they have 4 children. Her heart and passion is to serve and minister to the ladies of the church at Horizon and wherever the Lord leads, equipping them to do the work of the ministry.

Bethany LOVES teaching the word of God and to see women grab hold of God’s truths and stand firm on His promises! There is no greater joy than to see them pass on to others what they themselves have learned.

Remember, Jesus is our only hope! And Hebrews 6:19 assures us that “this hope we have as an anchor of the soul” is “both sure and steadfast.”  Jesus Christ is our anchor who keeps us strong and immoveable through any storm.

Anchored in Devotion and Prayer

God designed us to have a yearning to know Him and to spend intimate time with Him. But how often do we get distracted by the things of life? Being anchored daily in a deep time of devotion with Jesus Christ is the difference between thriving spiritually or just getting by hoping for the best. Do we want to see changes in our lives? Prayers answered in amazing ways? It all starts with our relationship with Jesus and the time we spend with Him. Join us as we talk about building a daily devotion time that is thriving, exciting, and foundational to a rich walk with Jesus Christ. “When You said, ‘Seek My face’ my heart said to You, ‘Your face, LORD, I will seek.’” Psalm 27:8.

Anchored in Marriage

This Workshop will look at seven principles from the Word of God that will help you build a strong and healthy marriage.  Satan wants to destroy the home and marriages but when we stand in the strength and power of the Lord we will be victorious.  Whether you are newly married, been married for many years or have unresolved issues in your marriage, the principles of this workshop will provide strong anchors to stabilize and secure your marriage. “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10

Anchored Through the Trial of Prodigal Children

As we look at the Lost Son, the Prodigal Son, we will discover the heart of the perfect Father as our anchor in the trial of prodigal children. God deals with His prodigal children through unconditional love and desiring a relationship with us. There is practical application through these two fundamental truths as we discuss God as the perfect Father. Luke 15:11-24.

Anchored in Singleness, Widowhood, and Friendship

Scripture says that God will provide an abundant life to those who “seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.” (Matthew 6:33). And it’s so true! Singleness is a gift that can be embraced as we stand and abide in Him. In widowhood, there is so much to do for the Kingdom of God! And with Jesus as our Anchor and at the center of our friendships, we can help each other stand strong! How can we be anchored and steadfast? By seeking the Lord wholeheartedly! You can have abundant life now! “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10b.

Anchored Through Trials and Suffering

When the waves of life are hitting from all sides, and it feels as if they are taking you under, In those moments, we need to remember the truths and promises that are throughout God’s Word. We will be taking a hard look at what the Lord says through these times and give you practical ways to stand firm with Christ through the storm. “And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, ‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt?’” Matthew 14.31
