Matthew 5:8 says “Blessed are those who are pure in heart for they shall see God.” The heart is a spiritual battleground and it is easily swayed if not firmly anchored in Jesus Christ. The blessing of choosing purity and holiness moment by moment is grander than we could imagine…we experience the uninterrupted peace of Jesus. The world has no rest, but the Christian can have the peace of God and see His face by seeking purity in their heart.
Consider a tiny speck of sand that finds its way into the meat of an oyster. Over time that piece of sand is transformed into a rare pearl of priceless value. So it is with our lives–seemingly small trials find their way into our lives causing great friction and struggle. As we seek Jesus through His Word, prayer, and worship, anchor in Him, and trust in His plan for our lives, He will use trials to create a pure heart that is as priceless as a rare pearl.
Ladies, join us for the Women of Joy “Pure Heart” Retreat, with guest speaker Cathy Dickinson on Friday evening, April 12, 7:30 pm through Saturday, April 13, 3:00 pm at The Westin Houston, Memorial City.
We will take time away from our busy lives and sit at the feet of Jesus and seek His face through worship, study of the Word and fellowship. Register online or stop by the table in the Lobby this Sunday.
