History

In the late 1960s, the first Calvary Chapel was started in Costa Mesa, California, as a small nondenominational church of 25 members, pastored by Chuck Smith. The Lord blessed that small group, and now Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is home to some 30,000 believers.
From the beginning, Calvary Chapel has been focused on leading people to Christ and discipling them so that they can go out into the world and lead others. The Lord has blessed this commitment, and Calvary Chapel has grown to 850 churches in North America and over 200 churches in South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Calvary Chapel's Bible College also has 20 extension campuses worldwide. We truly take to heart our Lord's command in Matthew 28:19-20, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Pastor Ron Hindt served as Assistant Pastor in a Calvary Chapel in Southern California for 10 years. When the call went out from this area requesting someone to pastor, Pastor Ron, along with his wife, Kym, and two children, Brittani and Matthew, answered the call and moved to Houston.
Our first service was held on Nov.10, 1991 at Ross Elementary School in League City where we met there for two years. Following that we met for five years at the Clear Lake Community center until purchasing our current facility. Our vision is to Worship the Lord, Win the Lost, Disciple the Saints and Send the Equipped. God has truely blessed our vision and we have seen steady growth ever since. Our joy in ministry, however, is not an increase of numbers but in changed lives. Our greatest desire is that we continually seek God's direction for this ministry in order that He receive the glory! (Psalm 115:1)
